The Tobun Foundation was set up in 2020 by Tevin Tobun with the aim of creating a formal platform to support disadvantaged young people through educational programmes and initiatives.
Building on existing charitable and educational activity which has taken place for almost 20 years, Tevin wanted to build a framework to further support those who need it most, during what is a challenging time for many.
As CEO of GV Group (Gate Ventures), a multi-sector company focusing on logistics within the education, social, healthcare, retail and business & industry (B&I) sectors, Tevin works with a diverse range of customers and clients.
However, his food logistics business, which he founded in 2001, very nearly didn’t come to fruition had it not been for the belief placed in him by his first client.
Having failed to get investment in his initial idea, Tevin’s determination and passion enabled him to convince the client that his new logistics model would add value to an already successful sector.
Recounting that moment, Tevin said: “I was lucky the client believed in my passion. She changed my life but she didn't know it. That's the beauty of this world and that's what led me to be such an advocate for giving back. That one person could have made a different decision and my life would have taken a different path.”
As an advocate of the power of self-belief, and equally passionate about the importance of giving others a helping hand, Tevin established The Tobun Foundation.
Through the Foundation, Tevin seeks to open doors for others, so they too can have the opportunity to advance through education - supporting them to pursue their dreams.
